Our Role
The role of the Fiji Trade Commission is to promote Fiji as an investment destination and a source of premium products and services.

We facilitate investments from USA, Canada and South America into Fiji; and exports from Fiji to the Americas.

Our Objectives
Our primary objectives are:

	To attract and secure investment from the Americas that meet Government’s development agenda and will contribute positively to Fiji’s economic growth;

	To grow Fiji’s exports/services and its foreign exchange earnings; and

	To promote the development of industries which are labour-intensive and offer employment opportunities for Fiji’s local communities;

Trade Commissioner | Mr. Jitendra Singh | EMAIL
Jitendra joined the Fiji Trade Commission (Los Angeles Office) in August 2010, on secondment from the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF). In January 1997, he joined by the RBF as a Technical Assistant in the then Economic Analysis and Research Division of the Bank and worked his way up to the position of Chief Manager (Economics) in 2009. Mr. Singh graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Information Systems, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Economics from the University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji. In 2002, he obtained a Master of Science Degree in Economic and Social Policy Analysis from The University of York, United Kingdom.

Mr Singh hails originally from Navua, Fiji. He is married to Jyoti and they have two children.

Trade and Marketing Officer | Mr. Colin King | EMAIL
Colin joined the office of the Fiji Trade Commission on March 8th 2006. Prior to his employment with this office he worked at Universal Warehouse Company for ten years where he handled marketing and the accounts of US based trade and importing companies. He was employed as Cruise Director with Blue Lagoon Cruises Ltd in Fiji where he worked for ten years prior to migrating to the USA in 1989.

He is married to Zelda and they have a family of three.

Administrative Officer | Ms. Damyanti (Demi) Pal | EMAIL
Ms Damyanti Pal or Demi as is fondly called was appointed to her position on February 27th 2006. She emigrated from Fiji to USA at the end of 2003. Prior to her migration she worked as Senior Administrative Officer in the Cabinet Office, Office of the Prime Minister.

She also worked in the Department of Immigration (Fiji Islands) for a number of years.

She is married with two children.
